Pre and post wedding parties are an intrinsic part of the wedding festivities,

All brides have showers. It's tradition that the maid or matron of honor hosts the shower for her maids in appreciation for their participation in her wedding is held a few before the nuptials.

The after-wedding brunch is sometimes hosted for guest the day after the wedding before the newlyweds take off on their honeymoon.

Who should host a bridal shower? Traditionally, the maid of honor hosts the shower. The shower can be hosted by a close friend bit it is improper for a family member of the bride to host the event.

How many people should be invited?  Remember that people want to get a chance to spend time with the bride. so make sure that the number of people keeps the shower somewhat intimate. Typically a shower ranges from 5- 20 people.

When should the shower be held? One to Two months prior to the wedding can be exciting as everyone has marriage on their mind. If possible, avoid holding it too close to the wedding as your schedule may be jammed packed.

What are some good shower games? Off Limits!  Each guest is given a safety pin when they arrive. After everyone arrives explain the game to everyone. Certain words such as wedding or honeymoon, or action such as crossing legs are off limits. If a guest catches another doing something off limits they acquire the others safety pin. The most safety pins wins.
